Product History

The idea for the product HTML ImageMapper dates back to the year 1998, when Esri’s ArcView 3.1 made it possible for the first time to export map images into a browser-enabled format (JPEG). In the spring of 1999 HTML ImageMapper 1.0 was brought on the marked as an extension to ArcView 3.1. The product line HTML ImageMapper 3 as an extension to ArcView 3 was continued, currently, HTML ImageMapper 3.5 is available as the compatible extension to ArcView 3.

In the course of ArcGIS (ArcView 8), alta4 developed in 2001 the first extension worldwide to ArcGIS: HTML ImageMapper 8. After the versions 8 and 9, version 10 for ArcGIS 9.1 has been on the market since July 2006. This version constitutes a big progress. The newest web technologies, like AJAX and DHTML, have been used in its realization.

The result is a surface similar to Google Maps, with dynamic zoom and pan without reloading the site.

In HTML ImageMapper NG the authoring system has been completely remodeled and developed under Microsoft Visual Studio.

In HTML ImageMapper NG2 version the authoring system has been designed even more intuitively and the KML export for Google Earth has been extended. With HTML ImageMapper NG10 the next step is done to publish your maps via ArcGIS 10 with the reliable features of the former version. With ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop a new adjustment to the recent technology was necessary by releasing HTML ImageMapper 13.1. Further changes came up with HTML ImageMapper 13.2 for ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2. HTML Imagemapper 14.0 provides compatibility with ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3. HTML Imagemapper 14.1 provides compatibility with ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4. HTML Imagemapper 14.5 provides compatibility with ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4.1. HTML Imagemapper 14.5 provides compatibility with ArcGIS for Desktop 10.5. HTML Imagemapper 14.6 provides compatibility with ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1. HTML Imagemapper 14.7 provides compatibility with ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.0. HTML Imagemapper 14.8 provides compatibility with ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.1. HTML Imagemapper 14.9 provides compatibility with ArcGIS Desktop 10.7.0. HTML Imagemapper 14.10 provides compatibility with ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.0 and ArcGIS Desktop 10.7.1.
